In April 5th & 6th and November 29th & 30th, SMB Arena has been given the opportunity to present itself at its own booth at ReGamEX, a retro game exhibition over at Budapest, Hungary! We have chosen a fine selection of approachable works loaded onto an Everdrive (hence the SMB-SD project name) for the public to openly play on a real console.
For those curious, please have a look at the video here! Special thanks for MrNorbert1994 for allowing us permission to borrow his equipment for this to be possible! We hope to return back to the exhibition next year, so anyone living at the area should keep an eye out.
Within the latest releases this year that we have rewarded a seal to, which includes Celeste Mario Zap & Dash Deluxe, Jumpman's Revenge, Among Us Bros. 2...... did you know that Eden GT's latest work, published 3 months ago, Sigma Mario III, has a public leaderboard? This is considered to be one of the most difficult SMB hacks out there in well over a decade, owing its major design influence from various works dating from the early to mid 2000s (Please view the readme for more clarification, an important read!).
As of this writing, there are only four brave challengers up to the task, but we hope that as time progresses more potential warriors would be willing to step into it! There is even a grand prize for the first player who manages to conquer through the "GOLD" quest!
That's it for this year's wrap! See you again next time.
