Alcatraz is an isolated prison island in San Francisco Bay, USA. Mario has been captured by the Turtle Clan, but will he be able to safely escape from this prison island, which is said to be impossible to escape from?
　There are four levels per world, up to a total of five worlds. It's a bit harder than SMB2J, and no glitches are required. There is a secret world, 6-1, which does not require a backstage trick, and ?-1 and ?-2, which does require glitches.
